Sharing¶
Sharing needs a Punchlist server: everyone on it has an account. Friends, groups and your friend link are on the Friends page, in the account menu (the sync button).
Friends¶
You share with friends, so start there:
- Your friend link: copy it, or show its QR code for someone to scan with their phone. They sign in, accept, and you are friends. New link stops the old one from working.
- Add a friend: type their exact username and Ask to be friends. They accept or decline under Requests; you can take a request back while it waits.
- Unfriend ends it.
An admin can also make two people friends (Admin > Users > Friends).
The server holds to this too: a list, a task or a group invite goes only to your friends, to people in a group you are in, and to people on a shared list with you. Anyone else is asked to be friends first (assigning a task to someone you found by name does that for you).
Groups¶
A group shares lists and chores with several people at once. New group, then Invite a friend; they Join from Group invites. The owner can Make owner someone else. When the owner leaves, the next member becomes the owner; when the last member leaves, the group is archived.
Server groups are made by an admin and appear here marked as such: you can share with them and assign to them, but only admins change who is in them.
Sharing a list¶
Open the list's Share button (on a phone it is in the list's ... menu):
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including who is in and deleting the list. |
| Can edit | Add, change, complete and delete tasks. |
| Can view | See the list and its tasks. |
Add friends or groups, change a role, or remove someone. Make private takes the list back from everyone (it disappears from their devices). Someone it is shared with can Leave list.
Shared lists appear under Shared with me for the others. Changes reach everyone within seconds, and offline edits merge when the device reconnects.
Assigning¶
In a shared list, give a task to someone (or a group) from its details, or type @name in
quick add. Assigned to me collects everything given to you.
A task given to a group is anyone's in it: Dibs takes it, and so does assigning one of its
members. Either way the group comes off, so everyone sees who has it.
What you share¶
At the bottom of Friends and groups (profile menu), What you share lists everything you share, by person and then by group: each shared list with the role it gives, and each task you assigned to someone who is not on its list. Tap one to open it. The cross stops sharing it with that person or group (removes them from the list, or unassigns them), and Undo brings it back.
